Hairline Lowering Surgery

Hairline Lowering Surgery, also known as Forehead Reduction is to enhance the feminine appearance, or improve the male forehead balance by lowering the hairline and reducing the height of the forehead.

The Procedure

Hairline Lowering is performed under general anaesthetic and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hrs to perform depending on the complexity of the surgery. The incisions are placed in the natural hairline to be as hidden as possible. These incisions heal well in 7 to 10 days and continue to fade becoming hidden within the hairline in 6 to 12 months. The amount or extent of the incisions will depend on the complexity of surgery required to achieve optimum results.

A support dressing is placed around the forehead at the end of surgery to help control swelling and reduce movement post operatively. Moderate pain / discomfort is expected for 3 – 5 days. Patients can go back to their normal daily activities after 1 to 2 weeks, but avoid strenuous exercise / activity for 6 weeks including any contact sports.
